Sad, but I can't say that I was too surprised. John was looking quite frail and when he missed the show on Saturday--the first time in 34 year--I wondered if he would ever come back. Well, 89 isn't a bad number and we can only hope to make it that long. I've watched "The McLaughlin Group" for most of it's existence so I hope they continue, maybe with rotating guest hosts of something.

Anyway, only one thing to say (and I'm sure John would appreciate it): Bye-Bye!

Haven't watched too much in the last couple of years, but he was a force of nature and will be missed.

Always a Sunday morning staple before football for me. RIP John, the nicest crusty old man ever!!
