R-MBP restarted 2x in the last couple of hours

Just wanted to see if any other R-MBP owners are having the same problem.

I was using iPhoto to transfer some pics I took to my R-MBP and suddenly it restarted and 5 minutes ago I was just browsing the web and it did the same thing.

I'm gonna wait to see if it does it one more time then I'll take it to the apple store when I get back from my trip or see if any of you guys have a resolve for this.

Using the Chrome browser by chance? That has a known crash issue with the 2012 Macbook line.

Yeah, if you use Google Chrome, you get kernel panic frequently.

Did you click the Apple Logo > Restart accidentally by any chance? This has been known to cause restarts.

A kernel panic and a restart are two different things.

Most users probably don't know what a Kernel Panic is. Many times when people say "My mac suddenly restarted" they experienced a kernel panic it seems.

Yes I did get that image but after 3 seconds my RMBP restarted by itself.

Should I start worrying? (googles kernal thinga ma gig)

And yes now to think of it I was using Chrome during that last restart. What is the deal about that? So Should I stop using chrome for a while?

I thought Google fixed it (or at least they did if you're getting the betas...) but apparently not. Yeah, I'd go back to Safari for awhile. Google is working on a fix. The beta I'm using hasn't been giving me issues. Probably within the next few weeks it'll get an official release.

Don't worry yet, just try using Safari for a while instead of Chrome. If it keeps happening without Chrome then it could possibly be a hardware issue.

I had one of these crashes then today. Using Google chrome. Not the Grey Curtain Of Death but a grey screen of death. Said it was going to restart and to hit a key to stop the restart. Tried to get a photo but I was too slow.

I have a couple crashes while using Chrome. I moved to Chrome Canary and have not had a single issue since.
