R-sim 3 unlock, can I upgrade iOS in the future

Hello,

I have a Telus locked iphone 4s, and I bought a r-sim 3 that unlocks the phone to iOS 5.1.1. Now suppose in the future when iOS 6 comes, can I preserve my baseband and upgrade to iOS 6 and the r-sim still works? Or am I stuck with the current iOS if I want to unlock it with the current sim adapter?
