R9 M290 vs GTX 550TI? Which is faster?

Hey guys!

I've recently ordered (yesterday) a iMac baseline with the R9 M290 not the X.

I've been wondering if it will be faster than my GTX 550 TI now. The GTX 550TI has 1gb of gddr5, and the R9 M290 has 2.

I only want to know if it's faster at running 1080p games. I don't need to run 5k games.
