Any Indesign/Pagemaker gurus awake at present?

I have been using pagemaker 6.5/5/4 for windows etc for many years, now have shifted to a mac with osX. I cannot afford to buy Indesign at present. There is a programme from Germany called Ragtime which is a free download for non-profit use.

Does anyone have comments as to how easy it is to use/learn, and any opinions and comparisons to PM?

Any help appreciated, with thanks,

It's free. Download it and try it out. I mean, my God man, are there really people here whose opinions you trust more than your own?

I have two very good friends who are about to embark on a 3-year mission. As our contribution to their efforts, my wife and I have volunteered to mail out a monthly pamphlet/newsletters to friends and donors on their behalf (they write the content, we proofread, layout, print, and mail). InDesign is too expensive. Could you point me to the free Ragtime (assuming it's available in English...can't read German)?

THANKS

FOUND THE FREE ENGLISH VERSION...

Don't have the time to try it out I'm afraid, so I'll try and use the knowledge/experience of others. It's the same reason why I only check the mac forums every couple of weeks - I have other things to do rather than sit in front of a screen...thanks for the reply, Max
