Hello, everyone. Please let me know if I am just being too much of a cheapskate here.

So attached to my iMac is a RAID 0 configuration of two 3tb HDDs (6tb total) that is used as my main storage drive for things such as my iPhoto Library, iTunes Library (both of which are huge), all my music that I have recorded in Logic and Garageband, school work, etc.

I have two extra 3tb HDDs laying around so I want to backup my RAID 0 configuration and I want to get the most of those two HDDs. I realize that Spanning is not the best because if one HDD dies, I lose all that is on one of the HDDs.

Is it very likely that something like that would happen? Would I be better off in investing in more HDDs and getting a RAID 1 or RAID 5 configuration? Or am I likely to be fine by saving money and using the SPAN as my backup?

Thank you
