Hi all,
I want to set up a RAID 1 configuration (Mirroring) by daisy-chaining a couple of FW400 hard drives (500G x 2).
I was usind a WD 500GB hard drive for backups and the thing croaked on me.... data-loss = "Anger; Misery; You suffer unto me" (Metallica)...

...So redundancy is the requirement.

Firstly, I cant find any external HD's that would have two FW400 ports (most have one FW400 and two FW800). Can you suggest any that are good and not too expensive?

Also, are there any good externals with fan (passive cooling worries me).

Secondly, I would greatly appreciate input on setting this up.

Third, what's the chance I can build setup for this using laptop HD's?

Thanks!
