Hi People,
I'm considering ditching my RAID-5 ReadyNAS box and using a couple of external disks on my MacMini in RAID-1 instead. I've never done OSX RAID before - what happens if a disk starts to fail? How does OSX notify you?

The data on this RAID-5 array is pretty critical, and it would be a real pain if it became corrupted.
