Right now I'm in desperate need of a large external storage. I have researched all options from WD my books to Drobo's to Mercury Elite Pro's. I think I might have found the cheapest and hopefully most reliability sollution that can be configured to a NAS.

I currently have an extra one of these sitting around to use http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144162&cm_re=x-qpack-_-11-144-162-_-Product

I found this all in one Mobo, CPU, GPU that supports RAID 5 and has 4 SATA connectors.

A simple $20 1gb memory stick

I plan on installing Fedora Core or some type of Unix software to enable a NAS, this way I can access media from my MBP and display 1080p movies with plex on my 42" plasma.

Does anyone have experience with anything like this? Any suggestions or tips? As you can see I don't need speed within the system, I just need a cheap RAID 5 NAS Server. For around $650 (without case cost) I will have a 6TB NAS.
