I want to modify my iMac, 24", 2.8GHz, 4Gb ram Alum... to be able to have a RAID 0 setup.

My plan was to take out the internal hard drive, get an eSATA cable out of the case (through the slot on top in the back) to a LaCie 4Big Quadra with either 1TB or 2TB (4 HHD of 250GB or 500GB) and reinstall Mac OS X 10.5.6 on them RAID 0.

I work in the music industry and working with a lot of real time samples and soft synths, I need a quicker HHD response and management time without having to blast out 5000$ for a Mac Pro.

Now, would Mac OS support my modification??

Also, I read a little bit about RAID 0 and it being dangerous for data lost... it is unreliable? or is it just "if I lose an drive that I'm screwd..."

Thanks
