I'm currently waiting on my new G5 Dual 2.0 to arrive next week. It's the first Mac I personally have owned, though not the first I've worked on by far. For the record, the only reason I finally bought a mac is OS X :)

Anyways. I've read that it is possible to set up RAID (albeit software RAID) on a G5 after purchase. I was wondering if you folks knew of any good instructions on how to do this. Cursory searches on Apple's site didn't turn up anything for me.

Thanks,
Dev

put in two identical hard drives and install the operating system again. during the installation bring up the disk utility. you can set up the raid array with that. after the raid array is done, quit disk utility and continue with the setup process. in other words, making a raid array is just a little bit more complicated way to format the hard drive.
