I just got this external enclosure to setup a raid array with two 500gb drives. Got everything plugged in, went in to disk utility and it seems it's already setup as a raid array. It showed up as one disk, unformatted, at 931gb. I formatted it, and it shows up properly on my desktop as one disk.
My question is, I didn't need to create the raid, so am I correct in that this enclosure already came formatted so I don't need to do anything? My two drives are already setup in raid 0? Disk Utility wouldn't let me create a raid presumably for this reason? I'm not sure how to check which way these two drives are setup.
