Hey all,

I've been stupid,
I need help...

When cleaning up and rearanging my desk i accidently plugged in the wrong power adapter in to a Lacie D2 Big Disk 320Gb (I'm not sure of the exact name, and can't seem to find one on the net - it's quite old). The longer model Lacie drive with the blue button, 1 FW400 and 2 FW800 connections.

The smell of burnt chips... not something you'd want to smell when dealing with harddrives.
Most of the data on the disk is backed up. I'd like to get the other stuff of.
I'd put the disk in another enclosure. Problem is that it consists of 2 160Gb drives, probably running in a RAID 0.

I have tried to replace the power chip with one from a different Lacie drive.
Both a "D2Control REV:1.3" (name is written on the flat side - the back in my picture).
The chips are completely similar, except for the bottom left corner (in the picture). Where the original one says 0430 the one I tried to replace it with said 0333.
The back also has a number 'stamped on'. The original says '431', the other one '342'
As you can imagine; no dice. The power light turns on but the disks themselves stay quiet.

Here's a pic of the burnt chip board

So here's my question:
Without me having to buy a (ATA) raid enclosure, would you think there is a way of getting the data of?

Long shot:
Alternatively, if anybody has such a chip laying around, would you mind parting with it? I'd be happy to pay postage and maybe an extra if required. And of course free beer when you visit Brussels ;)

Thanks
