hi guys, as many of you, i was shocked at seeing the prices of new the macbook pro's, so i thought it was time to give another small update to my ol' trusty 15" from 2010.

i've already done pretty much every upgrade i could do, maxed out to 8GB of ram and put an ssd a couple years ago (it's a crucial mx100, 256GB). The only drawback is that my model is limited to SATA2 speed, so the theoretical max i can reach is ~300MB/s.

now the question is: will i see any real improvement if i added another ssd next to it (in the ODD bay) and run both of them in RAID0 configuration? is it worth the hassle and the potential risk of data loss in case something goes bad? has someone else gone down this route?
