Read the mstand v. elevator thread below. I was thinking of getting an mstand but I've also noticed the iLevel which allows you to raise heights. Anyone got one of these? Any thoughts on which might be better: the mstand or iLevel?

Thanks.

Rain Design iLevel

I just opened my box and am trying this out; have emailed Rain to ask how I can stop this turntable (iLevel) fr swivelling while I type!

Also have asked them how I can stop the platform from jigging (up and down) as I type.

Maybe try this one: http://www.macsonly.com/macimp/kamas2.html

I have one which I use in Asia (lugged it - heavy!) all the way there but it is good and solid. Had it modified so I could set the tilt angle of the platform and keep it that way.

Ooops! They no longer have the model I have, but there is a newer one:

If only the kamas would swivel on demand (as opposed to responding to my fingers on the keyboad which is very disconcerting!).

So maybe the M stand is a better proposition for you?

Yes. I found a store that had both and immediately decided that the Mstand was the one that I wanted. I'm 6'3" and the stand brings my MBP to perfect eye level. I have my laptop connected to a 24" Dell Monitor and am going to buy a wireless keyboard to complete the system. For now, I simply take the laptop off the stand when I want to type.

Great buy and very stylish looking.....
