This seems to simply not work at all. I raise the watch to my mouth and nada, nothing. I have the setting turned on.

AM I missing something?

Same here. Tried switching it off and on again but it doesn't react at all. 'Hey Siri' works fine still

Gotta act quick, 0 hesitation. Also try to tongle it on and off.

I basically had to repair and restore from back up after upgrading iOS 5 to my 3 LTE to get much of the new stuff to work.

Throughout the beta process and now with the final release I find that it's never worked well. To make it worse, I've noticed many times where I'll look at my watch and Siri has been recording a bunch of what I said as if it was doing the raise to talk.

I find that I have to be quite close to the mic and talk relatively loudly into it, whereas when initiating it with 'Hey, Siri' I can whisper and it still gets picked up.

I turned it on and off and it works sometimes. I see the walkie-talkie symbol and it seems to work once it has disappeared. I have to bring it very close to my face. It is just as easy to use "Hey Siri".

Mine works great. Like others have said, you have to do it as soon as the screen lights up. Its worked pretty flawlessly for me thusfar

That’s not necessary, in so much as the two work together. I think it just takes practice to get right...
Odd it would not work for me until I turned it off and now it works every time. You do have to hold it closer and speak a little louder than you do when using Hey Siri. Probably to be sure you are speaking to the watch.

EDIT: You are correct. Just cut back on and it is still working. I think I also had to do a restart yesterday to get working. So that may have been my issue.

I only see Hey Siri toggle option in Watch Setttings->General->Siri. Is this limited to Series 3/4 ? I have S2.

I have a series 3 and raise to speak selected in settings and absolutely cannot get it to work. I’ve tried all the suggestion here including turning off “say ‘hey Siri’”, turning both settings (raise to speak and hey Siri) on and off several times, rebooting my watch, etc and nothing works. Of course, “hey Siri” still works. There is definitely a problem here. I know that it doesn’t take a lot of effort to say “hey Siri”, but the biggest advantage of raise to speak is that it doesn’t activate Siri on my iPad, iPhone and iMac. It’s irritating sitting at my desk at my iMac with my phone and tablet open and all devices respond to a Siri inquiry.

I found that you have to have the watch pretty close to your mouth and then it works every time. Simply raising your arm and speaking will not activate it.

I find that you can’t whisper or talk low. You have to speak in a normal tone. Like you are having a normal conversation.

Mine works flawlessly, i wake up the watch bring it close to my face and speak, works every time! I also disabled hey siri, always did ,even before watch os5

I found it works if I start speaking immediately but if I raise and pause a second it won’t work.. try your timing to see if that works for you

it does not work for my AW3 either.
so i thought....

but it works.

you have to start speaking.
don't wait for siri to come on first.
just speak.

You have to bring it close to your face and speak directly into the mic for it to work — Doesn’t need to be super load.

Hey thanks, that's it. It works for me now.
