Raise to use Siri

In ios 7 I was able to put the phone to my ear and Siri would beep and wait for a command. In ios 8, that option is missing. Where is it?

I hope they didn't get rid of it for the sake of pushing hey Siri. The bunch of Apple phones having the same virtual assistant with the same name, that would be stupid.

And why doesn't raise to listen work? If I get one of those voice texts and I put my ear to hear it, nothing happens.
