So recently, Raise to Wake on m my Series 2 has this annoying delay. Doesn’t matter if I have an app open, now playing while listening to music, Apple maps, anything. I’ll raise my worst and there’s a 1 -2 second delay before the screen lights up.

This is ultra annoying, especially when driving. You can’t ask Siri a request until the display is on, which means I’m forced to wait up to 2 seconds before I can see a turn or say hey Siri.

The watch has been updated to the most recent and the issue remains, its been reset and set up as new twice (I’ve changed phones twice in the last month) but it’s made no difference.

Does anyone else experience this, or am I alone in this, which likely means I need the Genius Bar?

Exact problem here!
I’ve noticed it more and more recently
At work it’s really annoying as I am constantly checking time in the job (healthcare). It easily takes about 2 seconds to wake
I tried resetting and changing orientation etc

I find if I look at it after I’ve recently woken it then it’s quick
But if I leave it for about 2min it goes to sleep again and then it gets the delay

Also there’s a huge delay in my phone (iPhone 8) ringing versus the watch ringing - very annoying as when I’m in a procedure it’s a huge delay

I recently noticed this as well, so I think it's 4.1 rather than 4. Maybe it started with 4, I don't know. I have a Series 0 38mm Sport, which otherwise seems pretty zippy... at least no other performance issues I can think of compared to OS3.

The thing is that I notice the delay only when it has been awhile since my watch has awakened. So I can be typing away at my desk, or out for a walk, and when I raise my wrist to check the the watch it will take a second or two to wake up. After that it will be practically instantaneous. It's almost like the watch is falling into a deeper sleep if it goes for awhile without the display turning on.

At first I thought it was a fluke, but now I'm noticing it more.

I noticed this too, especially on 4.1 but after updating to 4.2 today it really seems a lot better. Even over performance has been like how it was back on 3.1
