I got a 16gb upgrade from Crucial for my 2012 MBP. It works fine. I was hoping the stock 8gb memory in my 2012 will work on a 2010 MBP. It fits, different speeds, but same voltage. Sadly, it doesn't work. Turns on, but doesn't leave the black screen. Am I missing something or it just won't work?

I have a mid 2010 13-inch MBP, first time I upgraded the RAM the Apple store used 1333MHz and it failed to boot up. Long story short, if you want to upgrade the RAM in a 2010 MBP then you will always need 1067MHz only. Faster RAM (from newer Macbooks) are not compatible.
