Have an old MacPro (1st gen) with 5GB of RAM in the following configuration:
Riser A/DIMM 1 - 512 MB (apple)
Riser A/DIMM 2 - 512 MB (apple)
Riser B/DIMM 1 - 1 GB
Riser B/DIMM 2 - 1 GB
Riser A/DIMM 1 - 1 GB
Riser A/DIMM 2 - 1 GB
Riser B/DIMM 1 - empty
Riser B/DIMM 2 - empty
And finally have some money to upgrade a bit.
Is there any reason not to simply add 2x2 (or 2x4) in the empty slots, or would another configuration be more sensible?
