I am looking for a good link to the best price on 4 gigs of ram for the new macbook pro (late 2008). Anyone have any good deals in the us?

that seems high, no?

The new MacBooks use the newer DDR3 which is pretty expensive at the moment, even with 3rd parties.

Looking at price/shipping/time to wait, the upgrade price at Apple is actually pretty even with everyone else.

$140 for 4 gig of RAM is not high at all especially for DD3

Apple's 4GB kit is $150. Much closer to 3rd parties than DDR2.

I usually recommend 3rd party always, but the price discrepancy (add shipping) compared to Apple installing their own RAM is pretty close for DDR3 right now.

Eh? I see 300 USD for the Apple store in US.

Where do you see a kit for 150 USD?

You may also want to look at this:

It's rated for 1333 clock (MBP runs at 1066, so kinda a waste), and it's CL9 vs the CL7 at OWC. Personally the OWC seems like a good deal, even compared to Newegg (OOS):
