Im thinking about buying a mac pro after macworld. Although i see that the current mac pro uses the 667 FB DIMMS and i was wondering if the mac pro is able to take regular DDR2 SDRAM, im thinking like 16 gigs of like 1150 mhz or higher? Or if you can upgrade from this slow ram for progs like maya, cad, and raw HD rendering on the mac pro?

Thanks

No, don't even think about DDR2 SDRAM. The current MP can only use FB-DIMM's. The next MP will likely require FB-DIMM's as well. The speeds are only speculation at this point. Anyone's guess until the unveiling.
