On my Core2duo mbp I've been having problems with randomly not waking from sleep for a while now. None of the typical resets ever worked, nor did a comlete reinstall. I eventually narrowed it down to problems with memory. I had the original 4GB(2 x2GB) and noticed it was sometimes dropping to 2GB. When I would open it up and reseat the RAM, it would be recognized again. Thinking it might be a faulty stick of RAM, I upgraded to 8GB(2 x4GB), but the problem is still happening. 1 slot randomly isnt recognized.

Any help? I was quoted multiple hundreds of dollars to replace the logic board since I'm out of warranty.. is this my only option?? Anyone know of any tricks to get it recognized consistently?
Thanks

Did you try just 1 stick of the 4GB?
(Does the MBP need pairs? I kind of think not, but not 100% sure)
