Okay so I have a 2011 MacBook pro 2.2 quad core with the sandy bridge i7 processor. I run visual intensive programs that have left my 4gigs of ram feeling pretty lame. I found a great deal on newegg for 16gigs of ram for $50.

Problem is the RAM I bought is PC3 12800 (found in 2012 models) and my computer usually has PC3 10600.

They are both DDR3 1600 204 pin, only difference is generation.

Does anyone have any information if this will work?

I see it for 69.99. What do I do wrong?
