i preordered my g5 with the standard ram config to expediate the shipping. i want to add anoter gig of ram what is the best ram for mac i know i need pc 3200 but what brand?

I have got 2 sticks of 512 from them, came in 2 days (both times have been over the weekend), worked well. Prices are good too, any problems and they'll ship you another stick as I've heard from the few rare people who have had problems.

Of the 2 on crucial the one you mentioned is non-ECC and the other (more expensive) is.
18004memory doesn't state the specs of the 512MB DIMM, but I bet it's not ECC. Making the price difference for the same memory only $6 for equal quality products. One is not worse than the other simply because it is the cheaper option from the manufacturer.
ECC and non-ECC should not be mixed anyway, and I doubt the G5 uses ECC.

I have had great success with 18004memory.com (aka Coast to Coast Memory). Their prices are great and the customer service, awesome.
