I currently have a 20" iMac C2D 2.16Ghz w/ 1GB memory.

If I buy a 1GB ram stick, can I just install it in the RAM slot? I don't know too much about this stuff.

Is this something that will work?

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to put a 1 Gb module in the available socket (iMac owners with the entry level machine may have 2 x 512 Mb modules as stock, so one module would have to come out)

The vendor says it's compatible. Is it? Nobody else knows. Think hard about whether you want to be supported by an eBay vendor, or a seller that has a B&M presence and a good reputation outside eBay, like Crucial (use the Shop link above so MR gets a tiny amount of commission) or OWC www.macsales.com or DataMemory Systems, where you can get Lifetime guaranteed RAM from company with great customer service for $69.00
