I will be purchasing my first macbook soon, but I am not sure how much extra ram to get. I will be purchasing it from another site other than apple since it is much cheaper. I will be going to college next year and majoring in either computer science or business, and mostly I will be doing things like making websites, some photoshop, a few games, watching DVDs, that sort of thing. Will 2GB be enough for me or should I go for the 4GB?

Get the 2g's and see if it suits your needs. If not buy the RAM later. It's generally cheaper aftermarket than it is to get it pre-installed. You can cover part of your costs by selling the 2g's to another MB user that can only go to 2g's.
I just checked a few sites. A 2g stick of RAM is about $100. So is 4g's pre-installed cheaper than $200?

I just bought 4gb of ram for my mbp for $100 from buy.com. Pretty sweet deal. You have to setup two google checkouts, but no big deal.
