Sorry if this is a completely ridiculous question, but is there any notable difference between the various brands of RAM?

I just ordered a new MBP this morning and I'm looking to upgrade to 4mb of RAM (but I wasn't about to pay the $400 that Apple charges) and I'm wondering if there is some reason I should choose to pay more for a certain brand of RAM or not.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions on what/where to buy, please let me know. Thanks

Well for you US residents OWC is highly talked of by alot of people!

Brands that are used on this forum alot are OWC's stuff, Crucial, Micron, Kingston + Kingston Value Ram (KVR) etc...

Hope this helps!

Go to newegg.com its cheapest and they have customer reviews for every product which will verify which ram works well or if its garbage. You dont need to go to a mac place to get ram for a mac, they use the same ram as PC's and have the same compatibility. Its like the PC worlds best kept secret, not sure why mac users dont like taking advantage of newegg.
