RAM guide contradicts Newegg

So I bought some ram on newegg that had the same specs as the mac ram but was $40 cheaper. Of course I get it install it in my 2012 2.5 macbook pro. And it causes my screen to go pixelated and freeze. So i look on here and it says cas latency 11 is known to cause issues but all the mac 16gb ram on newegg is cas latency 11.

You could have bad RAM. I have bought the plain-jane versions of Kingston, G.Skill and Mushkin RAM and they've all worked fine. I've also bought the PNY and Crucial Mac-specific RAM and they also worked fine.
