Marcus did post on his video that it was confirmed. I did some research on it and I believe apple confirmed it with another tech reviewer.
The the hands in 6s review he mentioned it. But the actual apple confirmation I read from another article.

So not truly confirmed at the moment and we won't properly know until the tear downs. I think it'll turn out to be true though as the other major changes that were predicted before the event (3D touch, 12MP camera & 7000 series aluminium), turned out to be correct.
