RAM & Latency for 2008 MBP 15 (5,1)

I bought this refurb with 2GB of RAM. I'm going to upgrade it to the maximum of 4GB. My question is, are there latency restrictions? I can get a pair of 2GB DDR3 1,067Mhz sticks off NewEgg for about $95 but the latency is 7ms. Does that matter?
