the other day, dont ask why, i wanted to take my ram out, just for fun. anyway, i couldn't. the lever which is meant to come out didn't. i wasn't to fussed, as i was only doing it to waste some time and have a look.

but now i'm about to buy some extra ram from crucial (what happened to the cheap kingston ram on play.com? its gone up by like 10 quid! now crucial is one of the cheapest i've found) but dont want to get it and find i cant install it. it says on the apple tutorial if they dont come out to take it to the apple store, but if there is a fix i would rather do it myself. saves a journey then. so any help?

all i can think is that i did it when i just shut down my machine. so is there like a certain amiunt of time you have to until from when you shut the machine down?

any help would be much appreciated.

I would wait long enough for the chips to cool down to room temperature. I suspect that they have expanded just enough to hold fast.
