Hello, Future Shop here in Canada has 2GB 200-Pin PC2-5300 DDR2 SODIMM on for 24.99. My question is will this work in my imac? i have a late 2008 that has the 800mhz in it, 2 gb. I want upgrade to the 4gb of ram.
Thanks
Not really sure about the difference in mhz...

Yea should work, but most likely you have 2 x 1gb right now, so you will actually have to order 2 x 4gb instead of just adding a 2gb. I cant be certain but you should probably check before you order.

Right i will need two of the 2gb. But what about the speed, the stock ram is 800mhz, the other is 667mhz. How much of a difference, i guess i should just hold out and get the right mem.
thanks

You need to buy 800mhz RAM, as the 667mhz RAM isn't rated to run on the 800mhz bus in the computer.

You do not need the faster ram. Putting slower ram in a faster bus will not damage the ram or the system. To be quite honest I don't think you will even notice much difference.
