So this is what happened, i installed two 4gb sticks in the mac mini, replacing the old 2 1gb sticks, but now i want to put back the original ram sticks it came with and use the two 4gb sticks for my laptop.

But whenever i put the original sticks it came with and turn it on it beeps as if there is no ram in the slots. I've cleaned out any dust, and made sure not to damage or ruin the sticks, and made sure they were in place.

Any idea or fix for why it doesn't recognize the original ram?

Static electrical discharge can ruin RAM even if there is no physical damage. Sometimes even high quality RAM can go bad. Try testing those RAM sticks in another machine.

Just tested them, and they work in my laptop. (macbook 2009) :/ Any other ideas?

EDIT: I figured it out, MOD please delete thread

How did you fix it? I tried putting the mini's RAM into my MBP and it doesn't work, even though they work in the mini. Might be the same issue/fix here?

Well there's 3 ram's i was working with

Two 4gb sticks = crucial brand (new sticks)

Two 1 gb sticks = samsung (original mac mini sticks)

and

Two 1 gb sticks = hynix/korea 09 brand (original macbook pro sticks)

....

The crucial and samsung worked with the mac mini, but the hynix wouldn't

As for the macbook pro, all of them worked for it. (might have to do with the internal recognition of the ram type)

I kept playing with ram sticks untill i figured out, the brand had to do with it because the mac mini wouldn't recognize the hynix stick when i would mix it with one of the other brands.
