ram replacement macmini to macbook pro

I recently bought a 2011 macbook pro 15. It came with the standard 4gb of ram but i would like to upgrade it. About 9 months ago i upgraded the ram in my 2010 mac mini with 8gb 1333mhz chips. They have been working fine but since my MBP is my new primary computer i was thinking of just switching the chips. The chips in the mini are used obviously but is it ok to just switch the chips between the machines?

They're fine to switch. Essentially the same memory.

Make a memory test on your mini and on your macbook. See if the specs match and then change them
