In my app, the 5th gen iTouch (4" screen) automatically jumps to 200 MB of ram hits 300 and than crashes.

For the iPhone 5 and 5S, it hits gradually goes up from 24 MB with no jumps or spikes.

is this the device's processor issue? will cleaning up the code/optimizing help or do i have to wait for the 6th Gen iTouch?

i know it has 512 MB ram compared to the iPhone's 1 GB, but i dont understand the spike.

resolved, it was the images that messed it up.

iPad gets thumbnail-full resolution images, and i set the itouch/iphone to get only icon images and it works fine now.

but wow the 5th Gen iTouch's processor seems really outdated
