So i'm running 1.5 gigs of PC-3200 in my iMac right now, and I plan on putting a 1GB stick of PC-5300 into my macbook, while leaving one 256 stick of PC-5300 in the 2nd slot. What would be the ramifications of dropping the displaced 256 of PC-5300 from my macbook into the third slot of my iMac?

Do you mean the ramifications other than the fact that the RAM is completely incompatible, on account of one being PC5300 DDR2 200 pin SODIMM, and the other being PC3200 DDR 184 pin DIMM??

Or the fact your iMac has only 2 slots?

The RAMifications are; it is not possible to do what you are proposing.

Sorry.
