RAM upgrade 5,1

I want to upgrade the RAM in my 5,1. It's the 2.4ghz 8 core from mid 2010. I was looking around at the ddr3 1066, and have found that this ram doesn't have ECC, does that mean it won't work? Please school the newbie....

I bought ECC for my MacPro 5,1

The MacPro uses ECC ram. If you can use non-ECC, that's news to me...and I stand corrected. If you go here you will find the correct ECC memory in the configuration you wish--at half the price I paid in December 2010, I might add I installed 24 GB easily (watch the video)...took 10 minutes...has worked faithfully since I first got my machine (2.93 6-core x2) in Dec, 2010. And I'm a klutz.
