ram upgrade for powerbook 3400c

i know the maximum is 128mb for this unit. i'm running a dismal 32mb card now. is there a way to get the bios ['er firmware] to accept more ram on the board. in the pc world a bios flask or upgrade can sometimes be performed to enable different settings
