Hi all.

I have a late 2007 macbook, that came with a 80GB hard drive and 1GB RAM. I have since upgrade it to a 160GB HD and 2GB RAM. My question is, what are the actual limits in terms of RAM? Im not struggling for HD space, but i do run some 3D rendering software from time to time and wondered how far i could take the RAM before it started causing any problems.

Also, i understand my macbook won't support Mountain Lion because of the graphics issues, (Im currently on Snow Leopard still) is there any way to upgrade them?

Many thanks.

I didn't know that... and I have 2x2GB installed on my early 2008 macbook. Looking at the prices for the 4gb one, I don't thing it's worth the update...

Hijacking the thread,
I've received the memory...
But it's not working :(
My laptop just beeps :(
It's a 4GB 200pin 667 - 5300 Samsung memory!
And the other slot has a 2GB Corsair Mac Memory

3 beeps, pause, 3 beeps? You need to firmly seat the chips. If not, test them with memtest.

I think it was one beep and then two... or three...
I tried every possible combination so it's not that I didn't installed them properly!

1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable

In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once.

Tried again twice!
It's two beeps and then three!
Both times, different combinations!
