RAM upgrade—macbook not booting

Can you think of any reason that my computer wouldn't boot after I upgraded to this RAM?

PNY OPTIMA 4GB (2x2GB) Dual Channel Kit DDR2 667 MHz PC2-5300 Notebook / Laptop SODIMM Memory Modules MN4096KD2-667

I tried booting off of each card independently and neither works, but when I boot off of one of my old 1gb chips and one of the new 2gb, the system profiler registers both cards and says I have 3gb ram installed.

I'm on a MacBook3,1
Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.2 GHz
with a Bus Speed of 800 MHz

Not PNY PC5300 ram again !!
