Ram upgrade MacBook Pro 2010 Mid

Hello everyone, I have a Macbook Pro 2010mid with 4 gb of ram. I have one spare So-Dimm 8gb 1600 Mh Z 1.5V DDR3 memory. Will it run on my macbook. I know the max size and speed of my laptop are 8gb and 1066 but still. Can I run a single dimm of 1066 8gb ram instead of 2x4gb configuration. Thank you all.

yes it will run a single dim 8gb 1066mhz, total max 16gb memory DDR3 1066MHz (2 x8gb).
