Ram upgrade on power mac G4 duel drive bay

Hello, I am planning on upgrading the ram on my Power Mac G4 Dual Drive Bay.

I currently have it filled with 4x512mb sticks, totaling out to 2gb.

I would like to know if I were to replace 2 of said 512 sticks, bringing the total up too 3gb. Would my computer take full use of the 3gb? I have installed OS X 1.4 Leopard on it.
