Hi. I am considering the new Macbook Pro 13 or 15 inch.
I will be using the computer for some photoshop, moderate video editing, games on bootcamp, surfing the web.
I currently Have a Quad Core iMac 27 inch but I need a portable laptop to bring the laptop overseas with me since I do a lot of traveling.

Should I get an upgrade to 8GB ram from 4GB ram?
or should I get an upgrade from the hdd to ssd?

Is Apple ssd inexpensive compared to the after market ssds? because I know that the After market ram is much cheaper than the apple ram.
Thanks!

4GB should be fine. If you can choose only one, I'd go with the SSD.

Apple's prices on SSD upgrades are actually pretty high. They want $650 to upgrade the base 13" to a 256GB SSD. You can get a good 256GB SSD for about $500 from Other World Computing, or even directly from a reputable manufacturer like Crucial, among others. That said, the 128GB upgrade (for $250) is reasonable.

Aftermarket SSDs are cheaper as well. I'd get neither from the Apple Store, and order from someone like OWC, if you're comfortable marauding about inside your machine.
