RAM upgrade. What to buy?

Lately, I've realized 8GBs of RAM is getting pushed to far between Parallels and other apps. Is it expensive to upgrade the RAM (I'm thinking of doing it myself if you don't say the contrary)? How much could I fit and what/where should I buy?

The 12,1 is a retina model. You cannot upgrade your RAM, it is soldered onto the mainboard.

Should've done a bit of research before buying.

As snaky69 already noted, you can't upgrade that model. If you need proof, here you go. The RAM is soldered on.
