Ram Upgrade will it work

i have a 27 iMac 11.3 with a 2.93 core i7

at the moment i have 8gb of ram 4X2gb

i want to upgrade my ram, what is the maximum ram it will take?

because i found a review saying it will take 32gb of ram but apple only say 16gb

so if it can take 32gb will it work properly ?
