ram upgrade

Hi

I need to upgrade from 4GB ram (mac mini 2011 server) to 8GB or 16GB. Because it's a little bit expensive can I install only one module 8GB ? If I need more it could be easier just to buy another 8GB.

Currently you can get 16 GB RAM for less than 100 USD via Amazon or Newegg.

It has all the right markings, but it does not need to be Mac memory, if you find cheaper kits.
