I recently bought 2GB (1x1) card. It’s working wonders and I can run a poop load of programs at once. It is running very efficiently. However I noticed that when I have the basic apps open such as Ichat and safari, those programs are eating the entire ram as if it was a snack. I haven’t noticed any hiccups yet. Has anyone else noticed their programs eating more ram after an upgrade?

Don't worry. I think that's an OS X thing. Apps are known to reserve more memory than they really need, but it's handed back to the system as needed.

Safari eats RAM like a glutton eats cake. I've traced the problem to Flash requesting more memory than needed, then never returning it. If I view a few YouTube videos, suddenly Safari is using 500MB+, I quit Safari and it all gets returned.

the intertubes was working a bit faster on safari, at least in my experience.
