Just a quick question, not very tech minded so sorry if I sound a bit blonde:D

My current laptop, a Vaio has a physical memory of 4GB and virtual memory 7.9GB.

Which one of these is the RAM?

I'm quite happy with the way it performs, so when I buy the MBA I'll settle for the model which has a similar memory be it 4GB or 8GB.

Physical memory.

The 4GB is ram.

I don't know where you got the Virtual Memory from, this is something vendor selling you a laptop don't mention. It's not a specification you purchase a laptop by.

The other important number is storage space, typically 64GB and beyond.
