Ran into an old friend and his contact info showed up in my phone?

So I was getting off a plane yesterday and ran into an old friend. We chatted for a few minutes but we both had to go. Later in the cab, I pulled out my iPhone and his contact info was showing up in my "favorites" (note I only have 3 and it was right there at the bottom.

I didn't have his contact info prior to this, didn't ask or accept it, and certainly didn't make it a favorite. . .? What setting or what do I have open that allowed this?

Yes it does. You still have to have the app running, and accept the new contact. Someone adding themselves to your contacts is much more likely.

I have to add, I've had people just appear in my favorites before too. In my case they were FT entries of ppl I don't think I know.

Only if he send you his contact info via text/mms and you accepted it and added it as a favorite.
